Alexander Amy Doesn’t paint with his arm or his hand…He paints with his heart and his emotions. His color choices are as uncensored and unorthodox as the man himself and not once will you question the honesty of what the artist has put before you. There’s a sense of urban bee-bop musicality resonating within the textural dreamscapes that brings the artist’s own private ghetto to the forefront in unabashed stereoscopic 3d. The work, although mostly painted on 2 dimensional planes, can sometimes take on a 3rd dimension and appear sculptural and quite tangible.
Mr. Amy a Las Vegas Local, who was born and raised Los Angeles California, has become quite prolific in the abundance of work created in a short period. All in a signature style and produced at an astounding rate for a man with a family. Alexander” Zan” Amy; a self taught Artist , has found his private get away in a escapist resort that brave art lovers and the like should want to partake in their escapism as well with him in this place … with his expression … with his art.
When Zan paints, he has said he is “hoping bring light and definition into the forefront and create conversation pieces that stimulate and create gateways of interaction.” He is using his artwork as the vehicle for that mission. Hopefully, your world will be a little brighter as you take in his creations. Alexander’s best advice reflects on that positivity: “I feel the best thing we can do is continue to press forward and reach for that which is ahead; believing that OUR BEST days are BEFORE us, NOT behind us.”
Alexander Amy has work currently on display at: Henderson City Hall. He has shown in the Emergency Arts building in Downtown Las Vegas, Rainbows End Natural Food, Dick Blick Art Supplies as a featured Artist, The Clark County Library and as a volunteer Artist for Habitat for Humanity.
What others have said:
ALEXANDER AMY is an artist with an eye for treasure;
He has the uncanny ability to perceive style, along with the underlying subtle mood, that is often overlooked and under-appreciated in everyday objects and subjects. ”Zan”, as he is known in the ART WORLD, has the rare talent and ability to “find”, embellish, and present. His ART captures the abstract, while retaining the practicality and function of use. He has been consistent over time in various creative endeavors, ranging from the art of words (poetry), painting, furniture restoration, murals, as well as amazing photography. He has produced some of my favorite works, especially among the Las Vegas community of artists. His work, as well as his honest character stands out; he is punctual, professional, ethical, and is pleasant to work with. As a collector and purveyor of fine art, it’s nice to deal with creative people that are uplifting and positive. I appreciate the working relationship we have established, as well as his friendship that has been a wonderful part of my life. I recommend him highly.
